6. post-birthday post

*warning: long entry ahead..sorry peeps..read only if u have time, interested, or bored, having nothing better to do..

Yeap..I know it’s later than what can be expected..coz had no ample time before this..haven’t even really enjoyed my holidays yet..rested a few days after final exam was over on the 7th..up to genting on 13th..came back down..settled for a while & now just got back from S’pore trip (18th-23rd)..but of course better late than never ryte..

Well yea..I’m here to deliver a thank you note for all d birthday wishes I get..

To my monash mates, thanx for helping me celebrate up on the highlands..for the gifts & the treat to the meal we had + the ‘limited edition’ chocolate & hazelnut muffin from starbucks (?) ..even though candles were replaced with 2 long black straws & I need to pretend that there were flames on the ‘candles’..funny that i actually realize but yet not aware of it..haha..is this what u call as surprise? And with the present stuffed in my bag when I excused myself for a while..I felt something different..but the same idea was used once before, hence I know it while being curious what was inside..

Hmm..I’m turning ** years old this year.. (yes, I noe I finally hit the big 20-mark in my life)..reflecting back, I’ve actually spend most (in fact the whole of my life so far) in my peaceful home..up until the point where I get across the coast to study in monash of sunway campus..There I began my adventure in this challenging university life

at this point in time, without oso forgetting the friends and all those people whom I’ve known previously somewhere else..people walk past in various seasons of life for different reasons & it’s there where i’ve met new friends who came & walk past in my life for this season....

However, without u guys, life would surely have been different & what I’ve thought of is that if I had entered into uni 1 sem earlier or enrolled 1 semester later, then the circle of friends I meet would have been another batch of friends as well..

I could not imagine how far I could get without all of u friends when I came here with a foreign feeling & I don’t regret having met with u guys..it’s really a pleasure to have u guys step in & leave footprints, crossing path in my life..

I’m very grateful & thankful for all that I have & how He has placed me here of all locations..truly I appreciate everything we’ve been through..i treasure our friendship & cherish the precious moments we shared together..the time we spent means a lot to me..so, deep down from my heart, I sincerely say thanx to all of you..arigatou gozaimashita, minna-san..

Thinking of it, all those crazy times,

“nonsence” conversations while on msn chats

the worries & anxiety (mostly come from the kid)..& the serious period (exams)

the chill-outs, rest & relax hours, chit-chatting in cafeteria times

hanging out in d freezing library, napping (listening to lectures) in auditorium or lecture halls

the fellowship we had when dining for food in various eat-out places

the fun we enjoyed in outdoor trips & visits to our 3rd home (Sunway Pyramid shopping mall) [1st home – own house, 2nd home – uni]

all of these make up the memories we could reminisce next time even after we graduate, look back & say, “wow, we actually did all of those stuff together?!”..it’s 1 & ½ years gone, meaning half of our course has passed, but looking on the bright side of things..we still have another half of the course left..it’s not gonna get any easier but we’re all in it to go through everything together..cheering each other on along the way..

Thanks all for the wishes..above all, this is dedicated to my monash uni mates who were by my side throughout the few semesters so far..so, here goes (in no particular order) :

Lorence aka “old-man or the grandfather”: thank you for being a great listener when I talk out my troubles to u & for driving around to various places we visited..

Suzzane aka “sour plump witch”: For constantly keeping your blog alive & had us on the back of ur mind while u blog something related to our daily happenings in uni & making all those trips we had such unforgettable times

Mandy aka “the kid”: for being so psyched up all the time (thus, making us feel the ups & downs, just like a roller coaster in life)..enough getting us both excited & nervous..haha..jk…well, for driving us around as usual (& freaking us out with ur ‘flying car’ driving skills)..contributing memory capturing opportunity by lending us ur camera to snap pictures & photographs..

Pei en aka “werewolf”: for being cool, neutral & supportive all the time & updating us with information important for us to know..

Tze sheng aka “super-maid”: for being so original as the ‘maid’, for your useful suggestions for keeping us rational when we were lost in our thoughts (that happens almost every day)..even though u oso may get blur sometimes..haha..jk

Ket aka “panda”: for always being sporting & care to lend a helping hand & willing to teach when we don’t understand something or need assistance guide us through in our studies..for being gentleman enough to carry our stuff for us girls when we need a pet ..no.. someone (a guy to help us do so)

Wai Yen (“poker-player”) : for your endless pokes or random jokes..& also for your fight-backs (verbally) which makes me just wanna give up at the end of the day before I get ‘kik sei’ by u..nah, anyway, seriously thanx for being sensitive & for your concern especially when I feel down at times..

This is possibly my way of expressing gratitude & u know I don’t know what’s ever gonna happen tomorrow & just in case I’m not here anymore, probably I’ll be sorry if I didn’t let this out & state what I feel..i wanna start living life like there’s no tomorrow..

look forward to even more exciting times with u guys around..after all, we only have 1 life , in my point of view..it’s all about Living It Fullest Ever, so why not, study smart, work hard, & play all you can..

*p/s: noticed something rather sweet & thoughtful in a fancy t-shirt shop in S’pore the other day:

“friends are like stars, u don’t alwez c them but u know that they’re always there..”

ok..hey yo…that’s all for now, folks..!! ~ lol.. cheers .. xoxo.. have a nice day!! =P

At the place where the only casino in whole of M’sia is located…

ok..i understand it was like quite some time ago..but this delay is cause I didn’t managed to post this entry up right before I went to Singapore..sorry..was kinda rush..thus a postponed entry here..
I have to say, this is my third time being up on genting, but yet I have not played most of the theme park activity there..

So, this trip up was kinda fun..glad that we’re still able to make a 1-day trip somewhere with uni friends before we part & take a break for d holidays..

Those who went:
Suzzane, Ket, Tze Sheng, Mandy, Pei En, Yee Her (our guest), & me..

Except ‘barney’ who FFK us..well, jk..for inconvenience & lorence who seem bz with ‘marriage-making’ arrangements..no. sorry, I mean, other personal matters of his own…

well, it was great as we get to finally scream & shout our hearts out through the extreme experience & exciting moments..especially after dealing with final exams..purely just letting go & enjoy ourselves fully having no sense of guilt for procrastinating or whatsoever..

the space shot was the one we were most anxious about, as it was considered to be the most nerve-wrecking theme park game..1 which they said it’s the peak of all games, if u can survive throughout the ride..then u won’t be afraid to play other activities at the theme park..well, we’ve actually noticed that many of those people elder than us, like uncles, were joining to play & they made it down safely..well, maybe with slight fear of getting higher risk of heart attack la..so how can us be intimidated by this “scary shot” when we’re so much younger than them..it would be chicken-ing out if we didn’t play that..we should be able to overcome that challenge better ey..

the free fall was thrilling coz u never know when u will just be subjected to that power of gravity…that pulls u back down to the ground on earth..with high speed.. & u feel as if u’re gonna fly away from your seats..all pumped up with the flow of adrenalin..the only way to conquer the fear? Simple, just shout aloud, even if it meant you’re gonna get sore throat after that…yea, and so we did..finally back down safe & sound, after like..what..1 & ½ minutes…*phew

apparently, the washing machine (as described by yee her), was quite interesting as well, the game was actually called flying coaster but outwardly it seems as though someone is put into a machine machine & get spinned over & over again..getting ½ price to play for it was definitely worth it..it was rather fun…so if u ever wonder how mr. bean’s teddy bear felt when it was placed in the washing machine while mr. bean wanted to get his laundry done..go get a try at it.. *pity the XX eyes of the teddy bear..

*I think I want a real fluffy teddy bear as well..my Scottie at home ain’t soft enough for me to hug..

..& maybe I’m feeling a bit lonely..well, could it be that I’d actually prefer to communicate to a soft toy rather than humans..hmm..don’t think about it..i’m perfectly fine..unless maybe I go into depression..jk..

‘the kid’, who refused to join us for quite a few outdoor games, after much persuasion, mentioned she wanted to play the ‘spinner’…it was the activity where no shouting would be necessary..coz it was all relaxing & u can just sit there & enjoy the breeze..except u might feel a bit dizzy..but since I didn’t feel that way, me & panda end up playing it twice..one ride immediately after another *by jumping queue..haha

panda & me only need to buy 2 way bus tickets for transport to genting..cos we had free coupons for “outdoor theme park” only..oh well, since the rest bought ‘unlimited all park rides’, do u think we would buy extra tickets to play some of the indoor games we had that day? The answer is ‘no’..haha..& indeed, we successfully sneaked in to play a couple of indoor activity as well..the bumper car & gondola ride..escaped the checking for valid access to certain games..

snow world was another bonus..cos the kid had some vouchers with her as well..buy 1 free 1..saved some money as well..so the day ended up with those extra paying activity getting 50% discount since we had coupons & vouchers..haha..hmm..i just wished I’d c real snow in winter where the country has the actual 4 seasons..

later in the night..we head back to 1U to dine at a Japanese ramen restaurant..great deals..for delicious food, just nice-enough-to-be-filling portions at a reasonable price & satisfying meal for the day..after all, we had a fun time.. well, since suzz has posted this & elaborated in details, u may refer to hers for pics & all..buby3..

Holidays !

Hmm…it’s been a few days now since holidays just started & another semester is gone..no doubt, life in uni is quite hectic, thus I realize it’s easy for time to fly past quickly..as such, I think I’m practically trying to adjust into a less stress mode currently..somewhat takes a bit of time, maybe coz I’m thinking of doing many things at once, but life’s worth slowing down the pace a lil’ for now..& I can only afford to do so at this moment..

Well, what am I to do in these long ‘summer’ holidays?

How about leaving back to Hometown? Or just staying around?

Anyhow, 1st & foremost, for those who don’t know me as well..

*the question here is: where exactly is my hometown?

Answer:

I come from a small, peaceful town known as ‘land below the wind’ somewhere across the South China sea (don’t know how many miles) from KL, is part of Malaysia, viewing from the map, this place located on this planet called Earth resembles a shape similar to a dog-head..where there is prominent landmark in southeast asia/famous tourist spot: highest mountain on the island of Borneo (which I have not successfully climbed up to the top as yet but still wish someday I’ll conquer its peak to look at the magnificent view..& say “this is awesome!” [quote: Moore, 2008])..a getaway which the Mat Salleh would like to visit for vacation becoz of its amazing wonders of nature to just escape and take a break from the buzz of hustle bustle back in their glorious cities..

A silhouette of the mountain's peak

Foggy mist at the view from summit above the clouds

The big picture of this mountain from the front

Now, provided with all those clues, can u guess already? Well, I hope if you’re a Malaysian, you should know it by now, if not, you can also find easily from the map of Malaysia..unless you really still don’t know & lazy to find out, then come & ask me anyway..

I’m not really going back home yet as usual, well, just not as early as from starting of holidays. Some may wonder why I prefer to stay rather than go back to my own home sweet home when I have the chance..

For a few reasons that are as listed below..

~ air tickets have to be booked very early & sometimes it needs careful planning to go back at the ryte time or to get tickets at a reasonable price

~ the trip from where I am now to airport is quite far (about 1 hour journey)..& the cost for taking cab or expense for petrol even by private transport will be high

~ simply lazy to pack my stuff, if I forget something, then I’ll have to live without it for the time being in hometown

~ fed up with checking-in, waiting & waiting at the airport, and there’s most likely nothing better to do in the plane (another 2 ½ hours of flight just to reach the destination)

~ my siblings are in kl as well, & probably I just want some freedom from home & parents (shh) having living with them for the past 19 years or so..haha

~ if I’m in my hometown, there’s nothing much exciting or interesting to do, when I’m back, I’d really laze around a lot then..a month’s holiday back home is enough for boredom to strive in, especially when internet connection is slower..unless, I really find ‘something’ meaningful to keep myself occupied for a while..

Anyway, of course if you ask me.. yea, I do miss my house, TV (a favourite), warm showers, HOME-COOKED FOOD, much deserved relaxation & rest back at home..except for house chores though..being away from home means a lot of things gotta be dealt with alone, settle things by myself and handling stuff on your own..but at home, especially if all the family members are gathered together, at least it will give a sense of security & feel more comfortable as well..

Ok now, what’s the plan of how to spend my holidays?

Let’s see, what I can do..

Sleep as much as I want (finally)

Eat & rest

Catch up watching drama which I have not had time to watch previously while bz with studies

Msn, games, movies, music, surf internet, etc,..whatever

several games offered in facebook are quite interesting..why not try challenging your friends to win your high scores? here goes..

this is my pet...

pet society (sign up for this application in facebook if u haven’t, really..when you’ve nothing better to do, it’s fun to play or you can just be satisfied enough when you compete & beat your friend’s high scores)

geo challenge (**good way of learning more about location of various places, recognize maps, learning how to identify flags of different countries..if you’re like me, not interested in the way of studying geography during secondary sch & end up doing badly in the exams)

bowling buddies...the virtual version of course..can try to win as many trophies available then..

how about some word challenge..this could help to expand your vocabulary...

think you have big brain capacity? check this out & challenge your IQ in this mini game..

done with games..what's more?

1 day trip to genting (in fact, even in less than 12 hours from now)

Stay about a week in Singapore for CHC (City Harvest Church) organized Asia Conference

Job hunting for work of about 2 months back in Sunway Pyramid (it’s not like my dad owns d bank or print money notes, thus, it’s a great way to earn extra allowance & gain some experience as well, of course an alternative to killing time faster instead of studying)

STUDYING (should I start now? 3 months away from the next sem..well, on 2nd thought..just joking, stop kidding me)

Tidy up the place

Wander around anywhere aimlessly

Day-dreaming

So far, this is a review of outline for what I can do in the holidays..if everything goes well with plan..shall just stick to ‘go-with-the-flow’ kinda mood..after all, its holidays…

Happy Holidays, Monash mates!! ^^

*p/s: I am hungry now..gets off to search for food..haha.. =S

1. My 1st

Hey yo... welcome everyone,

This is officially my very first entry of a post in blog.
=)

The reason why is quite straightforward, exam's over & it's now my "summer holidays", giving me a little bit of free time to write something out & since the decision of starting my own blog has been on my mind for a while, I.guess it's a interesting idea to initiate this especially on an easy-to-remember day.. (",)

well, I'm just a beginner at this, hence I'm still learning more of what & how I should keep this blog updated once in a while..for me, at times, words serve as a better platform to express or deliver certain message or ideas and feelings, thus, if i ever get carried away by that side of me, pardon me for my emotional posts (i wouldn't noe what to expect either, just have to rely on my mood-of-the-day) o.O"

however, if you've really nothing to do, then i reckon you can feel free to drop by & maybe leave a word or two.. ^^

I think that's it for now..look forward to what i'll spill in here next time.. =X

lol..~cheers.. =D

have a nice day ey !!! =P
